Kiko About the artist Kiko: Manuel Fernandez was born in 1985 in Martigues near Marseille. His stage name - Kiko - was his childhood nickname. He has never had formal artistic training and is entirely self-taught, drawing on his innate ability to paint and draw. As a passionate Urban Art artist, he takes inspiration from Pop Art and Street Art. His pieces are a mix of familiar faces, American icons, graffiti and bold colors. • Boutet | NL Galerie

Boutet My digital art comes with an "augmented reality" a new unique version for each artwork Deep in the Quebec countryside of Lac-Beauport, Boutet majored in communications and graphic design at Sainte-Foy College. "We must have the means to break free and allow anything in the name of creativity," he said. He woke up at dawn and spent years studying with the greatest digital masters. Whether in Europe, Asia or the USA, his teachers taught and trained him with modern techniques of computer science. Its developments are also based on many courses that were offered exclusively online. He has been creating and inventing cartoon characters for TV stations for 25 years and for Internet corporations, books and magazines, as well as for large international companies such as: Universal Music, Nintendo, Hallmark, Colgate, Scholastic, the Canadian Olympic Committee, etc. his ideas have become figurines, stuffed animals and jewellery. Logos he designed have become solid images for companies who entrust him with the challenge of developing their brand identity. Boutet was always impressed and inspired by Picasso, Haring and Miro, by the great traditional masters and modern eclectic artists. "If Picasso had access to a computer, imagine what he would have created!" He masters the art of illustration, 3D graphic design, video animation and painting. Today he uses his digital art skills in a completely individual and unique style. Boutet's works are classic themes presented with a forward-looking approach. With impressive delicacy, he realizes the design, choice of materials and individual dispositions of his characters in an incredible spatial light, created entirely from scratch. Given this strong vision, diverse experience and education it is not surprising that Boutet created a new art form: THE DIGITAL SCULPTURE ! English: Deep in the countryside of Lac-Beauport in Quebec, Boutet completed communication studies and graphic design at Cégep de Sainte-Foy. "We must have the means to break free and leave everything in the name of creativity," he said. Waking at dawn, he studied for years with the greatest digital masters. Whether in Europe, Asia or the United States, his teachers taught and coached him via modern tools like Skype and Facetime. His continuous development is also based on many courses offered exclusively online. • Gomor | Pop & Modern Art Gallery | NL Galerie | Salzburg

Gomor About the artist Gomor: In the Old Testament of the Bible, Gomorrah is one of the two cities (the other being Sodom) that were destroyed by God because of the bad manners of its inhabitants. It's no coincidence that the terrifying child of French street art, Gomor, chose this pseudonym to capitalize on his talent. The artist, born in 1992, is originally from Paris and began very early to mark the facades of buildings in his neighborhood with spray cans. Very quickly his technique is perfected and evolves into new media that offer new perspectives to his art in full development. Like the pop art masters Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein before him, the young graffiti artist immerses himself in the world of comics that he loves so much. From 2015 he uses in his paintings recurring characters of pop culture: Wonder Woman, Superman or Uncle Scrooge a little too close to his money ... He combines them with well-known streetwear brands like Supreme or Louis Vuitton to transform them into a more concrete and often boastful insert world. Gomor, in his own way and in his personal quest for accuracy, seems to have found the magic recipe for a perfect balance between the licking designs of 20th century pop art and the spontaneous contemporary codes of street art. So he sends out clear messages, able in particular to denounce the excesses of our capitalist society, but all in light and falsely childish works. Gomor's art is always expressed in many media. Although most of the works sold in galleries are acrylic on canvas, sometimes the painter returns to his first love and we enjoy his figures on everyday objects: skateboards changed for the occasion in triptychs, mailboxes... • Paul Thierry | NL Galerie

Paul Thierry The desire to collect and archive, the joy of combining and experimenting characterizes Paul Thierry as well as the constant impulse to question established norms and conventional artistic techniques and to explore new potential. Until 2010, the artist, born in 1960 in Dramatal near Gleiwitz (Upper Silesia/Poland), signed his works with "Peter Bednorz" and celebrated great national and international success as a pop art artist. In 2000 he shone public broadcaster TVP Polonia broadcast an artist portrait of Bednorz. In 2006, the German federal government acquired the work “Berlin”, which the artist had dedicated to the topic of “reunification”, through the agency of the Federal Foreign Office. It has also recently been included in the collection of the Liesborn Abbey Museum in the district of Warendorf (North Rhine-Westphalia); the world-famous 7-star hotel in Dubai, the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah, also acquired a large-scale work from him. As early as 2005, Peter Bednorz, who united painters and graphic artists just as confidently as he did the draftsman and object artist, discovered the previously unknown medium of the monotype. From now on it will take up all his attention. In the last century, in the field of lithography, the universal genius Pablo Picasso succeeded in dealing with an artistic process that was established in art history but had fallen into oblivion. For Paul Thierry it is the medium of the monotype that continually inspires and stimulates him. In the meantime, there was no concrete trigger for the turn, rather it is the result of spontaneous, random experiments in the studio and thus once again proof of his openness and his will to creative freedom. It is well known that Thierry is an extremely productive and disciplined art innovator who does not shy away from the “horror vacui” (Latin: empty space). Not a day in the life of Paul Thierry goes by without passionately dealing with all conceivable forms of art design or, as we do with Pliny the Elder. can read in an anecdote about the painter Apelles: "Nulla dies sine linea" - No day be without a line! In other words: not a day goes by without useful activity – with Paul Thierry one would have to add: not a day without experiments! With the monotype he enters an unknown field, a terra incognita, to which he refers artistically in view of his intensive examination. Along with the "discovery" the decision to change the name was made, the reasons for which are both biographical and artistic in nature. Paul is his middle name, while Thierry seems closely related to the Latin word "terra" (earth). Already as a child he loved to build labyrinths in the deep earth and create sand sculptures there; he was only 10 years old and it testifies to his pronounced curiosity and longing to recognize things, to understand them and to literally "get to the bottom" of them - a quality that distinguishes him as a creator and characterizes his artistic activities to this day . From now on it is the medium of the monotype, which he illuminates and explores in its technical, formal and artistic refinements. The process originally comes from Italy and was developed by Giovanni Benedetto Castiglione (1616-1670). With the monotype ("an image") only a single impression is produced; instead of paper or canvas, the usual image carriers, a glass or acrylic plate is used. As long as the paint is still wet, the artist prints the motif reversed on the paper with a press or by hand rubbing. The monotype can thus be clearly identified as an original, as it only allows for this one print (a few more are lighter due to the loss of color). With conventional printing processes (e.g. etching or lithography) it is possible to produce an edition, ie a certain number of almost identical images. If Thierry now turns to an old technique, then this should not be seen as an indication of a lack of creative sovereignty, but rather its opposite: it is checked for its validity and topicality, the modern artist is confronted with a medium that used to be popular in the 18th century. and 19th century found its application. Paul Thierry is now adding new aspects to the process and extracting undreamt-of potential from the process. In this way, he transfers the monotype into the 21st century in a more or less modernized way. For example, he works with light effects or sometimes staggers up to four acrylic panels in a row; He also combines the process on acrylic plates with the classic canvas, in that both picture carriers are provided with motifs from his gigantic archive of picture templates and then mounted at a certain distance from each other. In doing so, the artist juggles both colored surfaces and graphic structures, which, when superimposed, ultimately result in the complete, complex picture. The staggering of the picture carriers transforms the originally two-dimensional picture into a seemingly object-like three-dimensional work of art. The process, or rather the translucent effect, evokes images of the tomography or cross-sectional images that a computer tomograph or a magnetic resonance tomograph produces of different body regions, such as an organ or joints. In view of the transparency, the artist literally makes his motifs "shine" and skilfully contrasts graphic lineament with painterly color surfaces. Thierry can therefore be considered the innovator and revolutionary of the monotype, since no artist has devoted himself to this process as intensively and innovatively as he has. His works can now be admired in the NL Gallery Salzburg. • Zoro | Pop & Modern Art Gallery | NL Galerie | Salzburg

Zoro - Graffiti artists ZORO took graffiti off the street and brought it to his studio, where it ended up on canvas, skateboards, Arne Jacobsen Series 7 chairs and street signs. Its graphics feature famous cartoon characters and colorful and imaginative letter combinations. When the documentary Stylewars, which deals with the New York graffiti scene, came to Denmark in the early 80's, ZORO was sitting on the sofa as a teenager and his father was watching the show on TV. Both were fascinated by this new approach to drawing and painting and spent the rest of the evening creating their own graffiti sketches. ZORO, who loved to draw and paint in his childhood, knew immediately that this was something for him and soon spent almost all his time drawing and painting sketches in his room. When all the walls of his room were almost completely covered with his work, he shifted his creativity to his school's restrooms, where he painted almost all the walls with cartoon characters and letters. Before long he had painted his first legitimate piece in his old nursery, while the home of his first illegitimate work was a disused railway in Kastrup on the island of Amager. The pace soon picked up and ZORO became increasingly fascinated by this subterranean world, where the walls and facades of the city were painted in the dark of night. Much of his time was spent doing just that. ZORO was also interested in electro-boogie and breakdance, which were part of the Danish hip-hop scene in the early 80's. He often attended the Thomas P. Hejle youth club at Nørreport in Copenhagen, where every Friday dancers met and competed against each other. All graffiti artists also came to Thoms P. Hejle. Here they exchanged stories about their graffiti missions and showed each other sketches and photos of their work, and soon ZORO had hung up his dancing shoes and started to devote himself to graffiti. In high school, ZORO spent much of his time painting the facades of Copenhagen and the city's train tracks with his good friend CAR. When ZORO joined the military and later the sergeant school in Sønderborg, he found that he had less time for graffiti. Then, when he became a father in 1991, the graffiti had to be completely neglected. In 2013 ZORO resumed his graffiti career and met one of his old friends from the scene, BATES, who was still active. BATES convinced him to go out and paint again - although legally this time - and ZORO was drawn back into the world of graffiti and has been painting almost every day since... Using his paint bombs, he first painted the walls of his colored drawings before expanding his painting. gesture on the canvas support. The painter realizes his works in a style that consistently leans towards abstraction and, a few years later, inserts male and female portraits, which he sketches using stencils. The artist owes this integration of the human figure to the New York painter Roy Lichtenstein (1923–1997), whom he admires in his portraits. Mr.Oreke's signature lies in his assets, which he mainly works with aerosols such as graffiti. Once the canvas is covered with projected paint, the artist mixes ink, acrylic, and charcoal. His figures then complete the ensemble, thus perfecting the often humorous story the painter wanted to tell. Qualified by the artist of "Street Pop Art", his style is resolutely contemporary, full of energy and imagination. Always colorful, Mr.Oreke's graphic compositions are inspired both by the artistic style of the initiators of the Pop Art movement and by the aesthetics of American comics of the 50s and 60s. • Ed Heck | NL Galerie

Ed Heck „Meine Kunst repräsentiert Lebensfreude pur!“ Der amerikanische Künstler Ed Heck lebt und arbeitet in Brooklyn, New York. „Dinosaurs of the Flaming Cliffs“ von Michael Novacek, was 1997 in der New York Times zum „Notable Book of the Year“ gekürt wurde). „Kinder malen einfach so drauflos. He will use all forms of artistic expression to agglutinate thousands of capsules to talk about consumerism. This phenomenon of the expansion of the world of art to the rejected object of consumer society certainly marks the starting point of his sculptural work. In the face of a globally aestheticized world, she transforms naturally into plastic. In 2012 he opens a chamber with a noir novel "Descent to Paradise" from "The Manufacture of the Book" before returning to his favorite art. Visual artist, it wasn't intentional, it was just another kind of adventure presented to him. The artist's work conveys a gaze full of cynicism and compassion for a world overwhelmed by the triumph of beauty or even morality, becoming a cosmetic behavior. Man wonders, artist challenges, returning the resulting image of a behavior peculiar to our society. Now in the NL Gallery Salzburg. • A. Furtwängler | NL Galerie
